BERTIEFEST 2012

This was the invitation....................

By Eileen................................

............... and Chris Moody.

When you arriveat the South Arbury Railway, the first thing you see is theTop End Bend..................

........... which leads into the remaining section of the original- width garden.

Beyond this is the new, double-width garden - everything up the left hand side is new.

The first Bertie I saw was this mustard tender loco.

There was a standard loco in mustard, too!

This American - styled loco hauled an impressive rake of rusty reefers.

It's quite surprising how far you can get away from the original design.........................

Double - heading with two manual locos sometimes needs more than two hands!

An interloper..........................

The MDLR's "Sir Samuel" ran a couple of times..................

Carol's blue example.........

........................ skipping along with the longest rake of the day. "I could have brought more........"

Some people REALLY weren't bothered!

Jill Rowbotham's delightful litte tender loco.

"That's a bloody funny Bertie..........."

.......... but the scooters were a nice load.

A small gathering - a foretaste of things to come.

A shower triggered a game of "How Many People can get in the Gazebo"!

This train came all the way from Brighton!

Jill Rowbotham preparing her loco for another run.

Awaiting his next turn...........

David Rowbotham steams his coal-fired cut down Russell.

A nice touch from our host.

The full line up..................

.......... was photographed by many.............

....... including our host!

There were 20 in total.

The final train I saw as Eddie Bull's, complete with his MOTY crane.
